Planning Commission
The purpose of the Planning Commission is to ensure that new development in the community occurs in a manner that is consistent with the general plan and the community's adopted standards. Members do this in the following ways:
  • Provide a forum for the public to raise land use issues and concerns.
  • Advise the City Council on land use issues.
  • Develop short and long-range plans, policies, rules and regulations on how land in the community is to be used.
  • In public meetings and hearings, review and approve development proposals for consistency to these standards.

The Commission is made up of five citizens selected and appointed by the City Council to serve three-year terms. One commissioner is selected from each of the five districts in the City.

The Commission regularly meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall - 405 E. El Monte Way. Please contact Deby Sano at (559) 591-5906 regarding the Commission's agenda.

Architectural Review Committee

The purpose of the Committee is to ensure that new development, redevelopment, and facade remodeling and repair activities in the Downtown area occur in a manner that is consistent with the community's adopted standards for this area. Members do this in the following ways:

  • Advise the City Council on Downtown design and development issues.
  • Review and approve development, redevelopment, and facade remodeling and repair activities proposed in the Downtown to ensure consistency with these standards.

Special attention is paid to colors used to paint buildings, the design of facade improvements and the design, construction, and placement of signs and awnings. The area in which these standards are applied in the Downtown Business Improvement District area is carefully considered.

The four citizen members and alternates members are interested merchants or property owners from the Downtown area, the Deputy City Manager, the Building Official, the City Planner and an architectural design professional appointed by the Dinuba Redevelopment Agency Board of Directors. The citizen members and alternates serve four, three-year terms.

For meeting dates and times, please contact Deby Sano at (559) 591-5906.
