Measure F is the Public Safety Tax measure that was passed by voters in November 2005. This measure increased the sales tax by 3/4 of a cent. All of the funds raised by the 3/4 cent sales tax are spent on improving public safety services and assisting the city in
keeping up with the growth.

The Public Safety Measure Citizen's Oversight Committee consists of seven members appointed by the City Council, five of which are appointed from the City's voting districts and two members appointed from the City at large. The committee is charged with reviewing expenditures of public safety funds collected through the public safety measure, to determine weather funds are spent, as promised, on the specific projects which are part of the Public Safety Expenditure Plan, as subsequently amended, and issuing public reports on their findings. The committee confines itself specifically to m.

Monies generated under the priorities, construction schedules, project details, funding source decisions, financing plans, tax rate assumptions, or selection of consultants, design and construction firms. The committee meets quarterly.

Measure F Oversite Committee
The purpose of the Citizens' Oversight Committee is to review expenditures of police and fire funds collected through Measure F, to determine whether funds are spent, as promised, on the specific projects a part of Public Safety Measure Police and Fire Expenditure Plan. Members do this in the following way;

- In public meetings and hearings, review and approve police and fire expenditures verifying funds were spent as promised The Committee is made up of seven citizens selected and appointed by the City Council.

Of the members of the Committee first appointed, three shall be appointed for terms of two years and four for terms of three years. Their successors shall be appointed for terms of three years. No member can serve more than two consecutive terms. Of the seven members, five of such members shall be appointed from each of the City's voting districts and two members shall be appointed at-large.

The Committee meets quarterly at 12:00pm at City Hall - 405 E. El Monte Way with specific meeting dates determined by the Committee.
